Heavy Metal band Black Sabbath formed in 1968 in England with Ozzy Osbourne (vocals), Tony Lommi (guitarist), Bill Ward (drummer) & Geezer Butler (bassist). Their occult & dark doom styled music led them to becoming one of the greatest heavy metal bands to influence & develop the scene, with some stating their 1970 album Paranoid as the start of heavy metal & Rolling Stone expressing that they had “changed music forever” with the album. They produced 19 albums from 1970-2013, with changing line-ups & were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall in 2006. In July 2025 Black Sabbath announced a final tour (Back to the Beginning) with the original line-up, which took place at Villa Park, Birmingham & included numerous acts from other bands & performers within the heavy metal scene. The show was performed on the 5th of July & 17 days later, on July 22, 2025, we would lose the “Prince of Darkness” himself, Ozzy Osbourne.
