Jerry West was a star guard for the Los Angeles Lakers from 1960 to 1974. West has also been nicknamed “The Logo”, because his silhouette is the basis for the NBA logo, & “Mr. Clutch” for his ability to make big plays in key situations. During his career, he was a 14x All-Star, 10x All-NBA First Team, & an NBA Champion in 1972. Because of his highly successful career, he was named to the 35th, 50th & 75th NBA Anniversary Teams. West was enshrined into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1980 as a player, & in 2010 with the 1960 U.S. Olympic gold medal team.
