Ozzy Osbourne was a legendary English singer, songwriter, & media personality best known as the frontman of the pioneering heavy metal band Black Sabbath (1968-1979). With his dark, theatrical persona, he was nicknamed "Prince of Darkness" & is infamously remembered for biting the head off a bat while on stage, becoming a symbol of shock rock & rebellion. In 1979 he began his solo career with albums like Blizzard of Ozz & Diary of a Madman, featuring hits like "Crazy Train" & "Mr. Crowley". By the 2000s we got to see into his personal life with the MTV reality show The Osbournes. Ozzy sold over 100 million albums worldwide & was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame both as a member of Black Sabbath & a solo artist.
