The Godfather is a classic 1972 crime drama film directed by Francis Ford Coppola. The film centers around the Corleone family, one of the most powerful Mafia families in New York. The patriarch, Vito Corleone, is respected & feared in the criminal underworld. People come to him for help, protection, & justice. Michael, Vito’s youngest son, starts out as an outsider who wants nothing to do with the family business. The story then follows his reluctant but ultimately complete descent into becoming the new leader of the family.
