Hernandez is a former Major League Baseball first baseman, widely regarded as one of the best defensive players in his position. He Played 17 seasons in MLB (1974–1990) for the St. Louis Cardinals, New York Mets, & briefly the Cleveland Indians. He is a 2x World Series Champion, 11x Gold Glove Awards recipient (the most ever for a first baseman), 5x All-Star & 2x Silver Slugger Award recipient & has been inducted to both the Mets & Cardinals Hall of Fame. Hernandez retired in 1990 has worked as a broadcaster for Mets games on SportsNet New York (SNY) & as a studio analyst for MLB on Fox.
